Thank you for checking in!  Sorry it has been quite a long time in between postings.  Mom and Dad are doing very well.  We have had a truly blessed year.

Andy won his campaign to be a judge!  This is amazing and well deserved.  The whole family is going to go up for his swearing in on the 29th.  Please send positive thoughts to dad to keep him healthy enough for this amazing day!

Dad has been incredibly well!  4 weeks with no visits to the ER.  We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (actual date is July 29th) this past weekend.  This is an incredible thing even without the stroke.

Terry and I were able to take dad out shopping for mom's gift.  He bought exactly what he saw fit, and we were able to plan ahead for mom's birthday.  We ate out everyday and dad did great with transporting.

Dad is currently in the hospital.  They suctioned quite a bit of fluid out of his airway.  After extensive testing, we have eliminated quite a bit.  So far nothing has come out as the cause.  They are keeping him overnight for observation and should go home tomorrow. 

They are recommending speech pathology again to help him regain his swallowing muscles.

Dad is doing great.  He is getting better with his electric wheelchair, just in time for spring and summer!  We have had our therapy extended for 4 weeks.  So we are holding steady!

Dad has been regaining his strength after his bladder infection this January.  He is experimenting with a new electric wheelchair.  He needs some training in the facility, but hopefully he will be traveling in style soon.

Dad has been doing well for the past week.  The infections seemed to have cleared up.  So we are back and at it with therapy.  We lost a little strength, amazing how fast that happens.  His therapists are incredible though, and are working hard with him.

Dad was in the hospital last week.  Initially for a blood in his urine, then a diverticulitis/appendix infection.  We felt all was clear, and he went back to Amber Park.  Today the blood was back in the ER.  There was still blood in his urine and he was lethargic.

The Dr. felt the blood was a holdover from last week's issues.   His lethargy could be the antibiotic or the increase of the anti-depressant.  We will be visiting our GP later this week to see where we are and what needs to change.

I hope you each had a wonderful holiday season!  We most certainly did. 

All our hard work and prayers are paying off.  Today my dad took some steps.  I hope to have some video soon!  We aren't seeing the same improvement in his right arm yet, but keep praying.  It is working!
