Dad's strength is starting to fail.  He is requiring more help standing and moving from the bed to the wheelchair.  For his, and his caretakers, safety, he has been moved to the health center part of Violet Springs.  This was done during the quarantine and went really well.  Dad was happy to direct the set up of his new room.  It was probably an easier move without his family trying to help with our pre-conceived notions for where would best fit.  We cannot wait to see him in his new room when this quarantine is over.

Dad has moved to a new facility.  It is the same distance from mom.  It is newer and has a health center.  This was the selling point for mom and dad.  This way when something happens, he won't have to visit the ER as often.

He is doing well and is extremely happy about the move to a new facility.  Thank you for checking in and have a great Holiday season.

Thank you for checking in!  Sorry it has been quite a long time in between postings.  Mom and Dad are doing very well.  We have had a truly blessed year.

Andy won his campaign to be a judge!  This is amazing and well deserved.  The whole family is going to go up for his swearing in on the 29th.  Please send positive thoughts to dad to keep him healthy enough for this amazing day!

Dad has been incredibly well!  4 weeks with no visits to the ER.  We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (actual date is July 29th) this past weekend.  This is an incredible thing even without the stroke.

Terry and I were able to take dad out shopping for mom's gift.  He bought exactly what he saw fit, and we were able to plan ahead for mom's birthday.  We ate out everyday and dad did great with transporting.

Dad is currently in the hospital.  They suctioned quite a bit of fluid out of his airway.  After extensive testing, we have eliminated quite a bit.  So far nothing has come out as the cause.  They are keeping him overnight for observation and should go home tomorrow. 

They are recommending speech pathology again to help him regain his swallowing muscles.

Dad is doing great.  He is getting better with his electric wheelchair, just in time for spring and summer!  We have had our therapy extended for 4 weeks.  So we are holding steady!

Dad has been regaining his strength after his bladder infection this January.  He is experimenting with a new electric wheelchair.  He needs some training in the facility, but hopefully he will be traveling in style soon.
